Leather is a durable, versatile material with a strong legacy in Wisconsin’s manufacturing history. In this class you will make a leather notebook cover that can be refilled constantly for years of use as a planner, sketchbook, garden log, travel journal, and so much more! The foundational leather techniques of cutting, riveting, sewing, edge finishing, and stamping will be practiced in this class. This is a beginner level project with all materials provided; no experience required.
About the Artist
Dennis Carl is a self-taught leatherworker based in Milwaukee. His past education is in illustration, graphic design, and garment construction. Dennis began working with leather in 2019 and currently sells custom work under Saint Menace Leatherworks.
