Back in the beginning of December, 2010 Nohl Fellow Paul Druecke sent me some information on his latest project. Paul had been a resident at the Spaces World Artist Residency in Cleveland, Ohio last summer, and for his project he commissioned two bronze plaques commemorating the sponsors of the program and the past fellows (with the 29th resident, Paul Druecke, prominently featured). Paul returned to Cleveland in December for the unveiling of Future History. This is how Paul describes the project:
“Future History consists of two bronze plaques permanently installed on the facade of 2220 West Superior Viaduct, Cleveland Ohio. Together, the plaques create a tight, slightly absurd memorial loop. They exist for one another, constructing (or deconstructing) a story of Spaces World Artist Program, Druecke's multiple roles as the 29th resident, the sponsor and ‘authorizer’ of the plaques, and the relationship between public identity and authority.”
