New Things to See at Lynden

October 4, 2010

Lately much of my blogging has been related to events happening at the garden, but today I’m posting about several new additions to Lynden. After a very wet summer, Sergio and Patrick were finally able to excavate in order to pour the concrete footings for several sculptures that needed to be resited following the renovation. Masayuki Nagare’s 1964-1965 piece, Bench-Stone has been installed in the north-western quadrant of the garden. The armature for Bernard Kirschenbaum’s 1974 sculpture, Twist for Max, is in place behind Waterfall Hill (the sculpture itself needs to cleaned and will be installed when cleaning is complete.) Finally, Heinz Mack’s Knife Tree, which I can see from the window of our conference room where I’m writing right now, is getting a new base.

Come to Lynden on Wednesday (10 am – 6 pm) or Sunday (12 pm – 5 pm) to see the new additions and visit (or revisit) the garden as fall takes effect!
