Chicken City!

Lynden Inc. is pleased to serve as the fiscal sponsor for Chicken City, a film by Pam Percy.

A First of Its Kind

Chicken City is the first film to feature every aspect of the chicken, from its documented history beginning in 3200 BC to its significance in various religions and cultures. The film will reveal painters, sculptors, authors, musicians, filmmakers and advertisers inspired by chickens. You’ll discover fun facts about chickens in pop culture, chicken cuisine, chicken breeds and chicken shows. There’s a chicken dictionary, and you’ll even learn how to cock-a-doodle-do in 21 languages.

About Pam Percy

After producing her first film, the award winning documentary, Finding Loren (2020), Pam Percy is returning to her chicken roots to produce Chicken City.

Pam has been raising chickens as a hobby since 1986 on her five-acre property in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After collecting chicken art and artifacts she realized that literature on chickens in art and culture was limited. For years she visited libraries and museums in Milwaukee, New York, Washington DC and London in search of "Chicken Enlightenment." The result was her first book, The Complete Chicken, An Entertaining History of Chickens, Voyageur Press (2002). She has also published A Field Guide to Chickens, Voyageur Press.
