Little Lake draining

This morning, Senior Grounds Manager Bob Retko began draining the Little Lake in preparation for our upcoming Algae Harvest. The Algae Harvest is this Saturday, October 16th, from 1-3 pm, and is free and open to the public. By Saturday, there should be a nice crop of dried algae, which can be used to make paper or for compost. (For more info on composting with algae, click here.) If you know of other uses for dried algae, please feel free to let us know! Bring your knee boots (it will be mucky in the pond), your forks or rakes, and a basket or container for hauling the algae away. First come, first served. See you Saturday!
