Pop Prints from the Bradley Family Collection

As a collector, Peg Bradley embraced Pop Art, particularly the prints of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist. A selection of Pop works on paper will be on view in the gallery, and many new works will be on display on the first floor of the house. Some—a large painting by Peter Max, silkscreens by Biasi & Landi and small sculptures by Vasa—shed light on the Pop era; others—a charming Milton Avery drawing of croquet players, a beach scene by American Impressionist Edward Henry Potthast—demonstrate Peg Bradley’s affection for bright yet intimate works.

Lynden welcomes winter with a day of outdoor art-making, studio activities, screenings, tours and tree-walks, ice skating and more. Artist and Green Gallery proprietor John Riepenhoff organizes YouSnow, a juried outdoor sculpture competition, and The Pond Is Our Canvas, a collaborative piece for all ages. Shana McCaw & Brent Budsberg complete their Outside project in time for the opening of their exhibition later in the afternoon. You can drop in to the studio to make finger puppets from recycled gloves, prints from animal tracks in the snow, and candles using the old fashioned dip method, or you can nip into the conference room for a small screening of experimental film and video that explores winter and snow. Watch or participate on foot, skis, snowshoes or skates (bring your own).

The Winter Carnival will conclude with the opening of Inside/Outside: Shana McCaw and Brent Budsberg. After spending the day finishing their Outside project, Shana McCaw & Brent Budsberg will be on hand for the official opening of their exhibition at 4:30 pm. The artists continue to explore scale, illusion, and the dialogue between interior and exterior space in an exhibition that focuses on combustion, both in the gallery and on the grounds.

COMING IN MARCH

March 13 we will be making Miniature Sculpture Gardens--terrariums with tiny sculptures—in the studio (there is a fee for this workshop). More information: http://lyndensculpturegarden.org/education/miniature-sculpture-gardens.
