School's Out Workshop: Nature Prints

Repeating shapes, colors and textures create patterns found in the natural world as well as the sculptures at Lynden. We will search for recurring patterns in nature and collect organic materials to use as drawing and printing tools. In the studio, our focus will be on printmaking, itself a repetitive process. We will learn to use Lynden's press as we create monotypes and practice Gyotaku, a traditional Japanese method of making prints with fish.
