Programs for the Very Young

June 11 - Bugs

The 40 acres that house the Lynden collection of monumental outdoor sculpture are also home to many birds, insects, frogs, mammals and plants. Art educator Claudia Orjuela offers programs for the very young and their caregivers that explore different themes, taking into account the changing seasons.

Tuesdays in the Garden is designed for children aged 1-3 and their caregivers. It provides an opportunity for those with very small children to engage in outdoor play and the manipulation of art materials.

HOME: Story Time is a virtual, bilingual story time featuring children’s books written or illustrated by authors, illustrators, and artists who have faced forced displacement as refugees, asylum seekers, or immigrants. Designed for children aged 4-8, we end each session with an art activity from Lynden art educator Claudia Orjuela.

Our Field Trips can be adapted for groups of 3-5 year olds (perfect for preschools and summer programs for the very young). In-person field trips are currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. For programs for older children, visit our Programs for Young People page.
