Summer Education in the Garden

August 5, 2010

Education program
Outdoor Learning Center

This summer, we inaugurated our our newly renovated art studio and outdoor learning center by offering camps and family/youth programs that made ample use of the sculpture collection, the natural setting, and our temporary exhibition, “Inside/Outside: Linda Wervey Vitamvas & Kevin Giese.” With a focus on observation, the “Table Top Sculptures” camp investigated the importance of looking and seeing in art and nature. Participants learned a range of techniques and processes–papermaking, printmaking, bookbinding, and origami–and created books, cards, boxes and sculptural ojects that were collectively assembled into one final work.
