Knitting Circle with Artist-in-Residence Nancy Popp

March 23, 2014 - 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Nancy Popp - Knit Hammock

Free to members or with admission to the sculpture garden. All materials and snacks supplied.

In preparation for artist-in-residence Nancy Popp's Inside/Outside performance and exhibition project with Paul Druecke at Lynden in July, she will be hosting knitting circles at Lynden and around Milwaukee. Popp, whose current residency runs from March 17 through March 27, sees these events as part project construction, part social event, part community gathering, and part critical dialogue and exchange. Popp is planning a site-specific performance on the grounds in conjunction with an on-site installation, and she will be installing a hammock in the sculpture garden constructed from the mason line she habitually uses in her performances. You are invited to help Nancy create the hammock by knitting sections with her.

More information on the residency and project here.

A second knitting circle will be held at Plum Dragon Foundation on Tuesday, March 25 from 7:30-10 pm; email Nancy at nancy@nancypopp.com for details.
