Sculpture Construction Techniques
In Your Classroom
How do sculptors make their work? A multimedia presentation of works in the Lynden collection highlights different techniques for making sculpture. Mark di Suvero made Poland by assembling recycled materials, and students explore that process by making their own sculptural assemblages from repurposed metal parts and magnets, using different tools to bend and shape the metal.
At Lynden: Mold Cast Sculptures
Students examine different construction methods up-close on their mini-tour of the garden, then try their hand at the mold and casting method using clay to create repetitive mold cast forms that are assembled into sculptures to take home.
