School’s Out Workshops at Lynden Sculpture Garden

Looking for something to do on those days when school isn’t in session? The Lynden Sculpture Garden offers two School’s Out Workshops for children aged 6-11. These workshops integrate our collection of monumental outdoor sculpture with the natural ecology of 40 acres of park, ponds and woodland, creating a unique hands-on experience of art in nature. Taught by experienced art educators, the workshops combine creative expression with plenty of fun. Extended care options available.

Are your kids off school on a day when we aren’t providing a workshop? If you can assemble a group, we’re happy to provide a School’s Out Workshop that fits your schedule.

Forest Sculpture

9 am-4 pm (early drop-off and late pick-up available)
Ages: 6-11
$50/ $45 members
Lynden’s many trees are the inspiration for this observational-artmaking workshop. Learn to identify trees through a series of art projects. We will create our own trees from dowels, butcher paper and cloth, transforming the studio into a forest.

Take It Apart, Put It Back Together

9 am-4 pm (early drop-off and late pick-up available)
Ages: 6-11
$50/ $45 members
One of the best ways to see how things are made is to take them apart. We’ll make a behind-the-scenes visit to Lynden’s workshops to see how sculptures are restored and conserved. Back in the studio, we will take apart some everyday items to see what's inside, and then we’ll build sculptures from the pieces. Inventors welcome!

Enrollment is limited, please register early. Workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Drop off/mail/fax/email registration form and full payment to:

Fees
Workshop fees include supplies. Save on registration by becoming a Lynden Sculpture Garden member.

Extended Care Options: add $5 for each option
Early Drop-Off: 8-9 am
Late Pick-Up: 4-5:30 pm

Sibling/Buddy Discount
Register for a School’s Out Workshop with a friend or sibling who is new to the Lynden Sculpture Garden and you each receive a $5 discount. Registrations must be submitted together.

Refund Policy
There is a $15 administrative fee for all refunds. Participants must withdraw at least 14 days prior to a workshop to receive a refund of the remainder of their fee.

Cancellation Policy
If a workshop is filled to capacity, or cancelled due to low enrollment, your tuition will be refunded in full.
