The dark season is upon us, the perfect time to explore nature by looking at the negative spaces--the spaces between things--and the role of shadows in our observations. On the land, we will investigate how plant and animal life (including humans) accommodate to the absence of light and warmth; in the studio, we'll discover how silhouettes, shadows and negative space are used to create sculpture.
